3 Lessons From My Side Hustle, 3 Toddlers, Marriage and A Job
It’s not easy, but it’s possible!
In the last 4 months I’ve built a website (with now over 300 visitors a month — and growing — and top 10 rankings on Google) written over 80 articles and found time to cycle over 300 miles.
All the while maintaining a full time job.
Oh and I’m also a husband and father to 3 amazing little angels — all aged 3 and under (our 1 year old twins and their big sister).
Lastly, I’ll add I’ve managed to keep most of my hair but more importantly my health.
I say all that not be boastful but to highlight the fact if it’s possible for me to manage everything life has to throw at me and still find time to get a side hustle started — then it’s quite possible for you too.
As you’d expect from taking on so many challenges, I’ve picked up a few things along the way. Here are my top 3 lessons.

#1 — You Get More Done When You Stop Making Excuses
For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to quit my day job and get working on things that bring me excitement and joy as well impacting others.
But I always had a million excuses as to why I wasn’t taking the action every single day to get closer to making that happen:-
“I don’t know where to get started”
“I don’t have the skills”
“I don’t have the time” (More on that later).
It wasn’t until the middle of last year when I’d decided I’d had enough of putting it off.
Once I stopped making weak excuses for myself and held myself accountable for working every day towards my goal, I got more done than I knew possible.
When you do that, you suddenly have no one else to blame for your lack of inaction but yourself.
#2 — There’s More Time In Your Day Than You Think
One of the biggest excuses I made was that I didn’t have enough time to work on a side hustle, do my day job and look after my family.
